2011 Congressional Veteran Commendation recipient and disabled veteran, Elizabeth McCormick travels internationally as an inspirational motivational speaker. While speaking, Elizabeth
relates the challenges faced as a female Black Hawk Helicopter pilot and Chief Warrant Officer for the United States Army to everyday obstacles your organization may have that can be overcome.
She flew Air Assault, rappelling operations, Command & Control missions, military intelligence gathering flight plans. Elizabeth also flew VIPs such as governors, congressmen and women, and even the Secretary of Defense. In 1999, Elizabeth supported Kosovo UN peacekeeping operations as C Company Rear Detachment Commander. She was retired from the military in 2001 after a career ending injury and is still a disabled veteran today.
For her excellence in service, Elizabeth was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Achievement Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Humanitarian Service Medal (a difficult medal to earn), the Army Service Ribbon and the Army Aviator Badge. In 2011, Elizabeth received the Congressional Veteran Commendation for her continued commitment to serving her community, veterans’ charities, and through her speaking career serving audiences with the lessons she learned and now shares.
In July 2019, Elizabeth will be awarded the Certified Speaking Professional (CSP) designation. About 17 percent of National Speakers Association (NSA) members hold this professional designation. The CSP designation is conferred by NSA on accomplished professional speakers who have earned it by meeting strict criteria. Those who pursue the CSP designation must document a proven track record of continuing speaking experience and expertise, as well as a commitment to ongoing education, outstanding client service, and ethical behavior. Elizabeth is one of 41 professionals to earn the CSP in the class of 2019.
